When OCLC began planning to develop mobile apps, we studied the wide variety of development options and chose PhoneGap. We will show how we use the modern PhoneGap stack to leverage our expertise in JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3 development to efficiently produce mobile applications for the iOS and Android operating systems. We’ll cover working with PhoneGap in an integrated development environment, accessing device elements such as cameras, building a modern JavaScript stack with Node, unit testing, functional testing, deploying development testing, internally evaluating, and deploying into production.
